Volunteers Give a More than 400,000 Hours to Sacramento County Programs

Recognition Ceremony on April 7, 9:30 a.m.

Sacramento, CA. April 6, 2015 - Sacramento County is celebrating the many volunteers who gave their time to programs and services in 2014. The volunteers will be honored at the Board of Supervisors meeting tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at 700 H Street, Board Chambers. 

Who: Representatives of three thousand individuals and groups will be recognized as Sacramento County's Outstanding Volunteers of 2014.

When: Tuesday, April 7, 2015, 9:30 a.m.

Where: Board Chambers, First Floor, 700 H Street, Sacramento, 95814.

Dwight ArmstrongMeet one extraordinary volunteer who contributed to the quality of life in Sacramento County: 

  • Dwight Armstrong gave 500 hours of Yoga Instruction to Drug Court clients for the Probation Department. The yoga classes help drug abusers who often suffer from elevated heart rate and blood pressure, withdrawal symptoms, and poor concentration.
